Welcome to the Rahway Taste of Spring!

Hello, my name is Matt Dobrowolski, and on behalf of the entire Committee and me as Chairman, I welcome you to City of Rahway's THE TASTE OF SPRING 2010 presented by the Rahway Arts District.

What is THE TASTE OF SPRING 2010?

The Tastes that are held in Rahway are quickly becoming the largest marketing events for metro New York and New Jersey food establishments, and the Food Tasting Event of the Year for "Taster" guests.  The Rahway Taste of Spring is a natural offshoot of the annual fall event called "The Taste".

The City of Rahway's famous tastings started eight years ago when the Rahway Center Partnership and the founding committee of The Taste gathered 14 local Rahway restaurants who presented their fine cuisine and we offered one type of red wine at a local tasting, which was held in the basement catering facility of the beautiful & historic Masonic hall on Irving St, where we had 110 guests attend.

The next year we moved the event into a section of the huge Rahway Recreation Center on Milton Ave.  That year we increased participation to 19, including some eateries from outside of Rahway, and added some wine vendors.  We were thrilled with an attendance of 225.

Word of the success of this great marketing event has spread over the years and we continued to increase participation to where we now have well over 60 tasting stations.  These stations will include over 30 national brand wine, beer, and aperitif tasting stations who this year will be offering over 150 selections for your tasting pleasure

No congested "conga-style" food lines!

There will be several entertainment venues, fine art and flower gardens to enjoy, where "eating becomes an art" with a full plate of gourmet food, wines, and aperitifs, beers, and desserts.  The gourmet food tasting will include various multi star-rated restaurants, Zagat-rated restaurants, silver spoon-winning restaurants, high end catering vendors, national competition winner restaurants, and some delightful local culinary secrets. Treat your sweet tooth to fabulous gourmet desserts from superb area bakeries or top chef creations.  For your caffeine fix we are again pleased to offer a gourmet Coffee Pavilion presented by The Quick Chek Corporation.

The Taste Founding Committee and all fabulous local food establishments are fully involved with The Arts District's A Taste of Spring, and therefore we are sure that THE TASTE OF SPRING 2010 will continue to be recognized as the premier tasting event that sets the bar, where eating becomes AN ART, this year, and EVERY year!  This year, the Rahway Arts District is pleased to offer the second annual Rahway A Taste of Spring Flower and Garden show.  Enjoy a sampling preview at the Tasting on Friday, and then join us for a full-scale Flower and Garden show on Saturday and Sunday April 10 and 11 at the same location.

The Rahway Arts District and THE TASTE OF SPRING 2010 Committee ask you to join us and taste the good life while you are amazed at the hundreds of millions of dollars in redevelopment you will have an opportunity to see in Rahway downtown, in what   Here are some new places to visit:
