DATE: FRIDAY APRIL 29. FLOWER AND GARDEN SHOW: THAT WEEKEND.
It is undeniably the best gourmet food and fine wine tasting and restaurant-marketing event in the entire NYC metro area! It is the tasting event of the year.
The City of Rahway’s tasting events started 10 years ago with just 12 eateries and wine sold by the glass with 100 attendees. It is now an event that takes up the entire site of the Arts District Recreation Center, and spills over into adjoining tents. The event hosts over 80 fine gourmet eateries, caterers, and food vendors from the Rahway metro area stretching across three counties. Included you will find well over two dozen fine wine/boutique beer/aperitif tasting stations with vendors of national stature. You will have a memorable gourmet food experience while having the opportunity to savor tastings of over 150 top shelf wine selections.
New this year will be the “Battle of The Bakeries” - top area pastry chefs will vie to win "Best Dessert" and also for the title "Best Rahway Metro Area Bakery". This is in addition to our usual annual food competition. Experience fresh mozzarella being cooked up and made on the spot, various ethnic delights, gourmet candies, fabulous ice cream fresh from a local producer, exotic presentations, and just plain fabulous home cooking.
Relax in a spring garden atmosphere which will prepare you for the annual Home and Garden show that will happen on the following day. Move to the music of three different entertainment offerings and after you have indulged in our gastronomic event check out the art show. On your way out, pick up some of your favorite tastings to take home from vendors who will be offering take home portions for sale. Make sure to check out this web site for their special offerings for Restaurant Week starting Saturday April 30 through Sunday May 9.

Tickets are being sold at a discount before the event - if there are any tickets left on the day of the event, they will be at full price. Finally, remember to bring three cans of food for our Food Bank drive and you will get a $5 gift certificate to one of our participating vendors.
